چکیده

Design and operation of high-gain (>1000), low-power (< 75 jtW), ultra low-noise amplifier arrays are presented. The amplifier array is operated in self-biased mode, such that all amplifiers are biased irrespective of threshold mismatches, and operate with low reset noise. The amplifiers are designed for possible incorporation as pixels of hybrid solid-state photon-counting sensor. The cell pitch is 30 jim in 1.2 m CMOS technology. Design and experimental results from small arrays of the two most promising amplifier circuits are reported. Design issues for obtaining sub-electron input-referred noise from these in-pixel amplifiers are discussed. A performance summary is incorporated.

Study and Analysis of A Simple Self Cascode Regulated Cascode Amplifier

This article proposed a simple self cascode RGC amplifier configuration to increase the gain and bandwidth. The cascode amplifier eliminates the miller capacitance between input and output and facilitates high gain, high input and output impedance with high bandwidth. However, the cascode amplifier requires relatively high supply voltage for proper operation and it decreases the output voltage ...

A Novel Low Voltage, Low Power and High Gain Operational Amplifier Using Negative Resistance and Self Cascode Transistors

In this work a low power, low voltage and high gain operational amplifier is proposed. For this purpose a negative resistance structure is used in parallel with output to improve the achievable gain. Because of using self cascode transistors in the output, the proposed structure remains approximately constant in a relatively large output voltage swing causing an invariable gain. To evaluate the...

Effective Design of a 3×4 Two Dimensional Distributed Amplifier Based on Gate Line Considerations

In this paper two dimensional wave propagation is used for power combining in drain nodes of a distributed amplifier (DA). The proposed two dimensional DA uses an electrical funnel to add the currents of drain nodes. The proposed structure is modified due to gate lines considerations. Total gain improvement is achieved by engineering the characteristic impedance of gate lines and also make appr...

A 2.4-GHz 0.18- m CMOS Self-Biased Cascode Power Amplifier

A two-stage self-biased cascode power amplifier in 0.18m CMOS process for Class-1 Bluetooth application is presented. The power amplifier provides 23-dBm output power with a power-added efficiency (PAE) of 42% at 2.4 GHz. It has a small signal gain of 38 dB and a large signal gain of 31 dB at saturation. This is the highest gain reported for a two-stage design in CMOS at the 0.8–2.4-GHz frequen...

A Low Power Low Voltage Rail to Rail Constant gm Differential Amplifier with 150 dB CMRR and Enhanced Frequency Performance

This paper proposes a low voltage (±0.55V supply voltage) low power (44.65µW) high common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) differential amplifier (d.a.) with rail to rail input common mode range (ICMR), constant transconductance (gm) and enhanced frequency performance. Its high performance is obtained using a simple negative averaging method so that it cancels out the common mode input signals at th...
